The YABI Group is a way for young adults (aged 18 to 35) to connect and share their experiences of living with a brain injury. It is a group for and by the participants. What is the YABI Group?

What happens at a YABI Group Meeting?

The YABI Group is a monthly meeting that involves a combination of hands-on activities, collective discussions, and group outings. It is held at a different venue (e.g., parks, cinemas, cafes) each month.


When are YABI Group Meetings held?

YABI Group meetings take place on the first Friday of every month from 4.00 to 5.30 pm. Each meeting is planned around an activity that is guided by recent attendees’ interests or recommendations (e.g. board games, arts and crafts, attending a movie, etc.) and are held at various locations across Sydney.


Who can attend a YABI Group?

Anyone with an acquired brain injury who is aged between 18 and 35 years. The group caters to participants of all abilities and stages of their brain injury recovery journey. We welcome attendees to participate individually, or with the aid of a family member or support person.


Cost

ANTS hosts the YABI group free of cost. However, there may be costs associated with venue attendance at any given YABI Group meeting (e.g., cinema, cafe, etc).
